About the Event

Join Matt Farrell, Volunteer Museum Manager, at 7:00 pm for a guided tour of the museum and listen to the stories behind the objects.

Experience the life and times of Enlightenment figure Maria Edgeworth through our immersive tour. Discover the celebrated English-language novelist of her era, a contemporary of Jane Austen and Byron, guided by her father, Richard Lovell Edgeworth—an inventor, surveyor, and educator. Maria became one of the most successful authors of her time, and you can listen to wonderful stories of Edgeworthstown’s past and its connections with historical figures such as Oliver Goldsmith, Sir Walter Scott, William Wordsworth, and Oscar Wilde.

If you arrive after 7pm, you can still explore the museum at your own pace with a self-guided visit until 9pm.

Self-guided tours are available in English, Irish, Spanish, German, Italian, French, and Chinese.

Tickets
